People remember the emotional stuff. The funny stuff. The awkward stuff. People always remember a great speech by the bridesmaid or the best man. They will remember anything funny or embarrassing (hopefully not!) that happens. Most of all, they will remember the fun they had and they will forever associate that fun with your wedding. It is the job of your photographer to capture these events so that your wedding day will live forever. It is the job of your entertainment to keep your guests captivated and full of life for your photographer.
Many couples have had me perform magic for their guests during their wedding. Not only do they want their guests to have a great time and remember their special day, they have me perform to fill a void in the evening. What about the people who don't dance? Who is going to entertain them? What about the people that don't know anyone else there? Who is going to give them personal attention and make them feel like they are part of your special day? Other couples like the idea of having a magician strolling through the crowd during cocktail hour while the wedding party is busy posing for photos. I recently performed at a wedding in Orange County and the photographer captured a great moment with the kids. You can see me performing close-up magic for some "former kids" at a wedding in Cleveland in the other photo.
It is important that there is not any down time on your wedding day. It will show up in your photographs. You have to keep them entertained in some way because the expression on their face will mean everything to you ten years from now when you are looking at your wedding photos.

I received a mention in the Exquisite Weddings Magazine in San Diego after performing at Christina and Adam's wedding. They included a link to my site, too, which I'm happy about.

This is really a fascinating post about having magician for entertainment. I think it’s an impressive idea to keep kids busy during the ceremony. I will definitely look for a good magician once booked Chicago wedding venues. Thanks for the idea!
